why i won't be starting any new projects this month

as some of you know, in my other life i am an astrologer and intuitive counselor. here's a little piece on mercury retrograde that i recently wrote. please don't reprint or redistribute without permission. enjoy!

Mercury Retrograde and What Not To Do

MERCURY rules communication, commerce, writing, learning, siblings, neighbors, and short trips. VIRGO is all about organization, efficiency, compartmentalizing, perfecting, and how all the various tiny parts fit together to form a cohesive whole. thus MERCURY retrograde in the sign of VIRGO implies that shit falls apart and you can’t put the pieces of the puzzle back together because some of the pieces are broken or have gone the way of that sock you always lose or have been made to fit into an entirely different puzzle. No matter how hard you try, a square peg won’t fit into a round hole. And that carefully drafted email that took you forever to compose has been irretrievably lost in cyberspace and your mail settings have mysteriously changed and it’s not in your sent mail folder either. What’s a girl/boy to do? Here’s what not to do from August 9th to September 2nd:

• don’t change dogsitters/housekeepers/ cute boy who mows your grass or otherwise hire new help, especially if you are an ARIES.

• don’t begin new creative projects. don’t hold out to meet someone new. what’s old returns by popular demand, especially if you are a TAURUS.

• don’t ignore your roots. you can and must go home again, especially if you are a GEMINI.

• don’t take that trip to see your brother/sister/cousin. misunderstanding is unavoidable, especially if you are a CANCER.

• don’t count your interest before it accrues. make the best of money already made, especially if you are a LEO.

• don’t worry if you feel helplessly scattered. this too shall pass, especially if you are a VIRGO.

• don’t obsess over what you could have, should have, or would have done. nobody is perfect, especially if nobody is a LIBRA.

• don’t be so eager to create a new clique. your old crew is as cool as it ever was, especially if you are a SCORPIO.

• don’t tell your boss what you plan to do in the future. remind him/her of what you have already accomplished, especially if you are a SAGITTARIUS.

• don’t book a flight abroad. don’t lightly skim over legal documents, especially if you are a CAPRICORN

• don’t play dumb when it comes to past due bills. they know where you live, especially if you are an AQUARIUS.

• don’t burden your partner with a set of new issues. work through old problems first, especially if you are a PISCES.

I am a gemini sun, capricorn rising, merc retro is in my eighth house...i've already had some glitches in shared monies... a check was written incorrecly where you write the amt out in words ( not the numerical amt)!!

to be honest, i don't want to go home at the end of the month for a reunion (i went last year) ...i've got SO much work to do....do you really think as a gemini i should shobhana??!! or is this geared more towards sun sign astrology?

P.S.-i just checked, retro merc will be making only sextile/trines w/ my natal planets and angles during this cycle...

andree - it applies both in a solar and a natal way. since you are a gemini, you are affected by what's happening to gemini as a whole, though perhaps in a less personal way.
